Why is Smart better than APT/YUM/URPMI/etc?

For one thing, it supports all the various repositories.

It claims (and i have been testing it) to handle dependencies better.

Smart can handle broken systems, as in dependency conflicts. Smart will not force you to fix the problem unless absolutely necessary to perform the operation. Of cource if you want to fix the problem, you can (smart fix). For more answers to FAQ's see the Smart FAQ site
