Title: HowTo: Setup a logitech Usb Webcam.

not really a howto, just the basic stuff to get logitech Usb webcam working in suse 9.3/10.0/10.1 as i spent 4 hours today after buying one.

Getting A Logitech Quick Cam Usb Working With Suse 9.3/10.0/10.1/10.2/10.3

Things you need:

1 ) Logitech quick cam (obvious )
2 ) Working suse install

to get this web cam working, ensure you have the following installed (they all come on install cd/dvd)

1 ) Xawtv
2 ) libdv-0.104-4
3 ) tvcommon-3.94-7
4 ) pia-3.94-7
5 ) libraw1394-1.2.0-2
6 ) libavc1394-0.5.1-3
7 ) tv-fonts-1.1-214 noarch
8 ) libquicktime-0.9.7-4
9 ) spca5xxfor 9.3/10.1 you need spca5xx tarfile from here http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html
for 10.2 you need gspcav1-20061216.tar.gz download from here http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html
10 ) qc-usb 0.6.3 (get it here http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/)

if all are installed, getting the cam to work is just a case of plugging the camera in
& going to kopete & going to configure, then clicking on devices. you should see yourself displayed
in the camera field & you are all set for webmeeting with your camera.

A place to check to see if your camera is supported & for driver info http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html
Hope this helps someone.

Update: as of 10.3, you just need to activate the relevant repository & install gspca that way. all dependencies are automatically resolved
