This will tell you how to add sources and give you extra sources



Coming from an "Apt" based distro (K ubuntu), my biggest stumbling block
was tring to deal with dependancies incurred whenever I tried to install
something in addition to the base system.
The first thing I did was try to get synaptic going, which eventually did
work, but I found it hard to find a good sources.list , so I ended up using
YaST2's install/remove software panel, and have found that once you add the
proper ftp sites and directories it tends to work much like Synaptic, or apt-get.

First you need to add the extra sources. This is done by opening YaST, going to
Software, and clicking Change source of Installation

Once you open that panel, You should select FTP
Then enter JUST the address of the chosen FTP site [ex. ftp.thedomain.org]
NOTICE how I didn't type "http://" or the path of the repository [ex. /pub/9.3/]
Then enter the path of the directory you want YaST to search in [ex. /pub/suse/9.3/]
Then click finish, close the panel, and go to install software and notice how it goes
through an update routine, if there are no errors, then you are go!
